One of my favorite things to do is to pick a place to go on the weekend for a quick mini adventure, especially when the demands of everyday life become a bit too overwhelming. This weekend was the first VegFest event, and I had heard about it through my time volunteering at the Iowa Farm Sanctuary! I had an incredibly busy week, and when my alarm went off in the morning I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to get up and make the one hour drive (many of you know how much of a non morning person I am…) but I’m SO glad that I did! 😀
The event was at a great venue, and when I walked in I was in awe–there were so many amazing vegan vendors and local businesses! I got to talk to many incredible people about vegan activism, vegan living, alternatives to pesticides, and local community efforts for sustainability. There were also great vegan shops and I am VERY excited about the shirt I bought from Harm Less Threads! You may or may not know that I have had a lifelong love for pigs, so this shirt is absolutely perfect. ♥
There were amazing food options too, and I have so many ideas for fall themed vegan recipes to make in the near future! (The weather is already cold here so I am already in the fall spirit!). I have been vegan for over two years now (yay!), and am always looking for vegan venues wherever I go. This was my first vegan event and I am so happy that I went! There are some events that are still on my bucket list–mainly in London where many of my amazing and inspiring vegan content creating friends live!
Life has been very busy lately, but I am slowly getting my creative inspiration back. I have had a pretty great start to my senior year, and time is already flying by (I recently turned 22 too!) . I seriously can’t believe that it’s almost October! I have a lot of post ideas that are coming to fruition, and I’m hoping to do more collaborations as the year goes on! If you’re a content creator and are interested in collaborating feel free to send me an email or a message on Twitter/Instagram! 😀
